Badges

We believe that completing badges is an impoartant part of Brownies and we try to do one per term as a group

This week we are finishing our fire safety badge after a visit to the firestation last week

Earn badges on your own

When Brownies are enrolled we give them badge books and encourage them to do badges outside brownies

There are lots that you can do on your own through clubs outside Brownies eg swimming, dancing and horse riding.  For these kind of badges we ask that their instructors/teachers read through the requirements and sign off the badge once they’re happy that all the tasks have been completed satisfactorily, the badge book should then be brought to brownies for us to see and then we award a badge at the end of the meeting

Other badges can be done at home but usually require things to be done or made, eg toymaker and crafts etc we ask that the items that have been made are brought into Brownies and one of our leaders will take a look at the items and ask questions around how the girls tackled the badges. Once we're happy that all tasks have been completed we will award a badge at the end of the night

We usually invite parents into the hall to watch when we have any badges to give out

Badges can be sewn onto the girls sashes (preferred option), gilet (bodywarmer) or hoodies
